June 20, 2021 - Birch Creek Golf Club

Union, Missouri

The early morning of Father's Day 2021 would be the birth of the historic event known as the Dad Shoe Golf Invitational.  16 golfers would tee off, starting at 7:20am at Birch Creek Golf Course in Union, Missouri.  The weather was beuatiful, with a high of 92 degrees, coupled with some pesky winds coming out of the southwest at 13mph would be factored into the competition.

The inaugural Invitational was a modified two-man scramble where players played their own scores and the winners were factored based upon how they played, coupled with their handicaps.  Needless to say, this format involved way too much math and most people lied about their handicaps.  Being the morning of Father's Day would be a first lesson to change the date so that people could enjoy themselves a bit more, rather than go home and be presentable in-front of their families...
